Connecting a LCD screen to watch TV cable

I have a LCD screen (without computer) and a cable that has a TV signal on it. I want to connect the cable to the LCD screen to watch the TV shows. Is this possible? What kind of box or cables do I need?

You would probably need a cable box with hdmi and run it to the monitor. You might need a HDMI/DVI adapter if the monitor does not have the HDMI input. You would probably need speakers too. How were you going to play the sound?
