Laptop HDMI 5.1 Home theatre Help

Hi. Recently I bought a Panasonic BT205 Home Theatre, but having problems when it comes to getting 5.1 through it from my laptop.

I have a Kobalt Computers G870 with a Mobility HD5870 (Windows 7 home 64)(http://kobaltcomputers.co.uk/g870_overview.php)

Theatre set up is...

Home Theatre HDMI and optical into Television.
Television HDMI into SKY+ HD box (surround sound works fine).
Television HDMI into XBOX (surround Sound works fine).

problem is when i put the hdmi cable from the xbox into my laptop i can get Video and sound but only in 2.0. In control panel sound options REALTEK HDMI OUTPUT (ATI HDMI AUDIO) it wont give me the option to change it to 5.1.
If I go to the second option which is speakers realtek high definition I get the surround option but only through my laptop speakers.

All this home theatre stuff confuses me and writing the problem is a challenge in itself.
I hope someone can understand my dilemma any advice would be much appreciated.
