My monitor will only accept VGA as an input (Had I have known at the time I wouldnt have bought it) and my graphics card will only accept DVI (and HDMI) as an output.

At the moment I use a VGA to VGA cable, and I have a Belkin VGA Female to DVI Male adapter to plug into the back of the graphics card.

However, having updated my power supply and graphics card today, I noticed when playing games there seems to be horizontal lines only when in game.

While the game is being rendered on the screen the white (very feint almost grey) lines show, when I minimise they immediately disappear.

From reading Horizontal Line Interference (SOLVED) I believe they are being caused by interference from my PSU.

I have tried all sorts of Vsync combinations and I think I have eliminated that as a cause.

My question is this:

As my graphics card outputs DVI, I understand this as a digital output. I assume at the moment that the adapter plugged into the card converts it into Analogue and goes into the monitor.

Would (If it were electrical interference) the lines disappear if instead of using a VGA to VGA cable, I were to use a DVI to VGA cable? Or a DVI to DVI and then use a DVI female to VGA male adapter to plug into the monitor (Assuming they exist)

Hopefully someone will be able to clear this up for me, as it is really annoying and I want to sort it! I understand it as that, am I correct, or have I completely missed the point :s
