Here is my situation. I have 5.1 surround sound speakers connected to my pc. I decided it would be nice to be able to run the ps3 through the surround sound for blu-rays and gaming. My pc didn't have an optical audio input so I got a usb device with optical audio in. Here is the problem that I'm having. I can get the sound to play through the speakers using vlc but there is quite a bit of latency. I've looked into using asio4all to try and eliminate the latency problem but I can't find a program that will let me use asio while directly playing the sound from my spdif input. I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to either eliminate the latency in vlc or a program that I could use to directly play the input either without lag or using asio to try and eliminate it. Anyone have any ideas?
