I was looking to buy wireless headphones, then I realized, why buy the headphones part when the portable reciever is all you need? Clip it to your belt and plug in any wired heaphones you want.

I've seen wireless headphones running commonly less than $50, sometimes much less than that, so I know the technology isn't expensive. Yet I'm not sure what quality the cheaper stuff gets you. If the portable reciever always stays connected within a 20ft range (within the same room) with high quality sound and has good battery life I'm happy. Don't need anything else (but some basic durability).

I want them for music, and my ears are picky (part of the reason I want to use the headphones I already own), but I'm reasonable about it...a 224kbps or v 2 -vbr new mp3 encoding doesn't bother me, for example.

Anyone know anything about this sort of thing?
