Think this is the fight forum thread if not sorry..
At the moment you have to plug all 6 speakers into the back of my dvd to get them to play. The cable is normal stero 2 wire cable that seperates and you place in the speaker. The other end has a connection i never seen before but this not a problem as i can cut them off and put what ever connection i want on.
What im looking to no is there any think i can get as in a small amp or some sort of receiver to connect all these up including the sub so i dont have to use the dvd.
I want to keep the speakers but not the dvd if you follow so i want to connect all these up.Anyone no how i can do this what i need.
You need a receiver like this: http://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-TX-SR308-5-1...74227222&sr=1-1 This will give you real 5.1 surround sound. With this receiver, your subwoofer needs to be a powered subwoofer, that uses a cable with RCA type connector on the ends, instead of the two raw "speaker" type wires. You didn't mention if the sub was powered or not.
It sounds like you are using an HTIB (home theater in a box) with a built-in dvd player? This receiver will be a huge improvement over that! You may also need a different dvd player, unless the one you have now has digital outputs.
Good luck!
