Hi all,
thanks to this site i have set up a dish running off 28.2e and and running multiroom with a quad lnb, now here is where the fun starts as i still am relatively new to all this..

1. are there any satellite FTA receivers that have the ability to record and change channel at the same time and allow acces to an external memory source (hdd, flash drive, etc), please note i have searched ebay but im not finding what i want exaclty and unfortunately money IS an issue so a cheapo to start out with would be great?

2. If i run 2 different branded pvr boxes, i.e. comag and technomate and use one memory source and swap it between the two devices should both devices be able to read the recorded material or do different brands use different encoding or compression methods.
