UPC hdd recorder digibox

Hi all,

I have one of those crappy thompson hdd digiboxes courtesy of UPC. I can only seem to get a composite video signal out of the scart adaptor on the back of it. Its running to a projector so the picture is crap once enlarged. I used to get a decent signal via rgb on my old decoder.

I bought a scart out to RGB lead to try get a better picture but the thompson doesn't seem to output on the scart RGB pins. Is there ANYTHING I can do to improve the picture.

(BTW the signal goes composite to my amp, then is upscaled with a farouda chip to 720p then output via hdmi for the projector. Picture looks washed out and analog)
