I recently stumbled across your forum looking for info about backing up my DVD's. I found a great help through on here, downloaded DVD shrink and DVD decrypter, and went through the list telling me how to set it up.
Now. I sucessfully backed up my Japanese copy of Kill Bill no problems. It works perfectly. However, when it came to my UK and US films it wouldn't have it. The Reg 2 one said something like "cannot copy disc" and mentioned something about copy protection, and the US disc asked me to change the region of my drive, and that after it would lock to this region apparently.
So what i guess i'm asking is that is there any way of getting around the copy protection using these programs, and if not, if there a program that will make my PC multi region?
I'm not very PC savvy at all, so forgive me if this isn't clear. Any advice will be appreciated.
I think that 'AnyDVD' from SlySoft will allow you to play/rip DVDs from different regions without changing the burner region code (normally, I believe that it can only be changed five times before it is permanent to the last region chosen).
