i have some films on my pc that have been converted on shrink,can i transfer these onto my daughters mp4 player if so what sort of memory on the mp4 is required

If the files were converted without the h264 compressor, you may want to convert them again to get a smaller size file. Most current MP4 players support the MP4/h.264 format. Here is an article on reducing file sizes: http://www.deskshare.com/resources/articles/dmcpro_ReduceFileSize.aspx
