Dvd burner not recognizing a burned disk

Alright here is my question....

Using Nero 8... I burned my movies and pics on to dvd + R all the time. I was trying to make a copy to keep in a safe place. The disk plays in my phillips dvd player to tv.

So I put said disk in to my DVD drive in the computer. low and behold it's like there is no disk there.... so from there I opened Nero 8 and go to burn a data disk and still it doesn't show up....???

WHY????

The disk works fine in the dvd player on the tv and I burned the original disk in the computer I am using... what do I do to make a copy? I know there is data on the disk. any help here would be great.

How Old is Your Burner?
Does it Read Original DVDs and Cds?
Is Yur Burner's Firmware Up-To-Date?

it's not the burner problem. I double checked. The disk does the same thing on Laptop, work computer, kids computer. It's totally weird, the disk works in a phillips dvd player and an lg. the Files burned show up in the list, press play off you go.

But if I put the disk in any computer dvd drive nada! I'm totally at a lost.
