Im trying to rip all my DVDs to hard drive avi 700mb im using DVD Decrypter and auto Gordian Knot, im doing this on my laptop windows vista.
Trouble is it takes 5 hours from start to finish, is this correct.
is there a faster way to do this?
Is there better easy to use Softwere? (Dont mind buying if its good)
I have many old films music dvds family films to do, so please anyone know of a better quicker and easy to understand way of doing this.

Since you want a specific size (700MB) it requires two passes to convert.
You could opt for a Quality conversion, which is a single pass, but you have no control of the size.
But the biggest bottleneck is that if you don't have multiple cores, it is much slower.
My own PC converted a 2.5 hour disk to 700MB in 45 minutes.
When I was using a single core machine, I had it run overnight to get around the problem.
