Anyone else having trouble with this?

Seems like "normal" DVD to DVD format decrypting (DVD Copy - Full Disc) has been turned into a pay plugin. Either that, or the new GUI interface isn't very intuitive to me.

Since I can't figure out how to make the free version 8 of DVDfab work like the old one, I've switched back to using my old version 7.

Anyone else have similar issues?

Fab 8005 will not open Iron Man2 and neither will AnyDVD's newest.

Edit:
Everyone AnyDVD has upgraded to 6.7.0.0 and it will open Iron Man 2 in about 15-20 secs.

AnyDVD History

6.7.0.0 2010 09 27
- New (DVD): Added support for new protections, e.g. "Iron Man 2", US
- New (Blu-ray): Added support for new BD+ protections
- New (Blu-ray): Updated decryption keys
- Some minor fixes and improvements
- Updated languages

Edit Nero Recode has no trouble opening and analyzing the disc at 81.1% 5.1 English audio and English subs. Will now let Nero do it's thing. and report back when burn completed.

Thanks guys for the replies. I've resolved the issue and I'll go into further detail in case anyone runs into the same issue.

If you have the old version 7 of DVDFabDecrypter, you'll get the popup notification that there's a new version 8 and ask if you'd like to install. DO NOT DO THIS!!

This will get you into trouble, since it will install the ripper only portion that doesn't have the same features as the old free version 7 of DVDFab Decrypter - which is basically useless if you're ripping a full movie with the intention of burning it back to DVD format. That's what happened to me. At this point, you have to uninstall 8 and go find the Copy DVD to DVD version of DVDFab to download and install.

If have not yet upgraded to 8 via popup, then DO NOT do it if asked. Instead, go to the site on your own and download/install the COPY version (instead of the ripper version) of DVDFab 8.

Seems like they made it confusing in an effort to bait folks who currently use the free version into paying for the new full version.

(Of course, you can always go back to version 7 in the mean time but I'm stating the obvious when I remind that you'll probably have trouble ripping some of the latest and greatest.)

Hope that helps in case anyone gets stuck like I did.

The point is moot if you pays your money for the full version. If you like it so much give the developers their due.

I probably would have considered it in the past.

But being dirty about it by trying to trick users by disabling functions?

Sorry, but they just blew their chance of that ever happening now. You don't treat customers/potential customers that way.

@pirkster

so what are you going to do about opening new encryptions? You'll have to buy some program. I recommend AnyDVD which works with everything. But I have paid for Fab also. Sorry for your plight tho!
