The online rental company, VUDU, has a service known as disk-to-digital where a DVD can be turned into a digital copy played using a VUDU app or program. This exchange can be done at WAL-MART for a small fee. Ranging from 2-5 dollars. Now a beta service has been released doing the same thing done at the store, except instead with a computer program known as VUDU To Go. I want to know, theoretically of course, if using some specific software would it be possible to imitate any DVD and therefore receiving the digital copy for the small fee issued. To explain the process; you simply insert a DVD or Blu-ray disc, click add disc, it then scans in a matter of seconds(what is it scanning for exactly on the disc's files?), and then a menu pops up with your movie where you then decide the quality. Thanks ahead of time for any information on this!
