DVD Duplicator not using a controller?

Hello I'm working on a DL DVD Burner/Duplicator anywhere from 12-30 slim Sata DL DVD Drives Just looking at my options.

I've seen the duplicator controllers but they seem to cap-out at 11 and are expensive.

My question is i have these PCIE x16 cards that give me 12 sata a piece if i get a SLI Dual PCIE x16 mother board, can i just use the computer as a controller and if so how?

I'm i better off just burning the image to multiple drives with Nero.

Can the computer/OS even recognize this many drives?

Will this make my power supply melt?
