I recently purchased a Duo 3 Ultra Mod-chip for the ps2 and I am having huge diffuculty in getting the solder do stick to the points on the chip. Has anybody else had this problem? I have soldered wires to the chip but they break off far too easily. Please advise.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

clean your points with rubbing alcohol, sandpaper [scrape with knife] or what not. If they don't stick, it won't work.

I thought about scraping the connection points on the chip surface, but I was worried about damaging the chip... Is this a common problem with all chips?

Its a common problem with PS2 they seem to have a clear layer of coating that makes it harder to solder to, until you scrape them. If you mean the modchip then you are probably soldering wrong.
