Hi all,

I'm new to afterdawn so please bear with me.

I learned that I could mod my ps2 75001 by installing free mcboot on my memory card. I understand that concept, but I can't get ulaunch.elf to work off of my trigger disc.

To run it, I used this link and burned a copy of Star Wars Battlefront 2 on a Sony DVD+R @ 2.4x. I load the disc, it works until I go to launch the file. I head to MULTIPLAYER->LAN then the system goes to the "Please Insert a Playstation 2 or Playstation Format Disc" screen.

Could anyone tell me what I did wrong?

That link is gone now but I know the tutorial.

Did you use the uncompressed BOOT.elf of uLe

I am guessing you changed the NTGUI.ELF.

***StarWars Battlefront 2 NTGUI.ELF (in the NETGUI folder)[go to the main menu, swap and select "multiplayer", now select "LAN", select "Add/Edit", now select "EXIT WITHOUT SAVING", ulaunch will start]

Tutorial is posted here for reference - link

I used the uncompressed boot.elf file of uLe. You're right I did change the NTGUI.ELF file with the uncompressed_boot.elf file (I did rename it to NTGUI.ELF then used apache).

Ok it should have let you click EXIT WITHOUT SAVING first..

Also I am sure you did, but will ask anyway. You did Change TOC For Selected File" with Apache. Change The SIZE to the EXACT size in bytes as the ELF file you wish to use(uLe 4.39 uncompressed elf is 917,792 bytes)

I wonder if you have to set that up first with the Original disc or not.

I am not sure, sorry.

I did change the TOC exactly. The thing is, as soon as I choose "add/edit" it doesn't let me "exit without saving". It only crashes and shows the screen.

Is there more than one NTGUI.ELF in that ISO, the reason I ask is because how the tutorial says its the one - (in the NETGUI folder)

There is no more than 1 ntgui.elf in the ISO, at least in my copy. I've gone through the entire ISO and I only found it in NETGUI.

Ok seeing JNABK wrote this tutorial in this link , I would then go to this thread and ask him about it.
It is a thread I started there about the swap disc for fmcb

Maybe he has an answer, unless you have one of the other games listed in that link or Network disc, or demo disc even work.

You will have to check them for what ELF files they have. I know my Online Start up disc doesn't have anything on it buts its newer, but others have posted success with older Network adaptor discs.

I see you already posted on the psx scene. Hopefully someone there can reply.

Your welcome, hope you get it working. I know some older Network discs have some demos on them. You can check if yours does or what ELF files it does have?
