I have been reading up alot on the FMCB for the PS2 for about 2 weeks now trying to exactly figure out what it is but im lost (As I have never been good with software)

I am working on a PS2 Portable, and I need to do a few things
1. Can I rid of the CD Drive (Not really FMCB related)
2. To Install FMCB I just have it on my memory card, put it in the PS2 and when I turn it on its good to go?
3. Follow the IDE pinouts on my V12 PS2 (Which I have already done) so I can use an IDE HDD, then I used an IDE to CF Card adaptor and run my (Purchased) ripped games off the CF card?
4. My thinking is I have FMCB on my memory card, I have an HDD-->CF card adaptor installed. I drag the .ISOs onto the CF card, pop it in the PS2 and im running games with no disk, is this even close to right?
