Hi everyone, I'm brand new to the forums and hope you guys can help me out.
I soldered a Modbo 4.0 into my V14 PS2 a few weeks ago. (I know, I'm way late to the party.) I only use it to play my American originals and original imports from Europe and Japan, no backups. For the longest time, it would only boot import PS1 games sporadically. One time it would work, another it wouldn't and another it would see the CD as an audio CD and let me listen to the game's music. I found out that if you hold the CIRCLE button when the "Matrix" bootup logo is on, it forces everything to PS1/DVD mode. Now, all of my import games boot 100% of the time, which is great. But now, my problem is that imported PS2 games won't play.
My PS2 imports played perfectly before. I can also still play American PS2 games and watch DVDs from my region. I've tried changing the config settings in the "boot" option, but nothing has worked. I tried holding the SELECT button for "fast boot," but it just freezes on the "Matrix" logo. And I've also tried unplugging it to see if that "reset" anything, but no luck. So, as it stands, I have a perfectly working region-free PSone stuck in a PS2's body.
My reason for asking for help is that I'm not sure where the problem is originating. If it's on the chip, does anyone know which solder points? I know SX is for PSone, and I read somewhere that Y is for DVDs. I'm tempted to just quit, because I'm getting kinda mad at it.
