Hi, need advise from frenly bros here. I have a modded set bought in 2005 and havent been playing much. Recently tried playing but works at times only with backup discs. When it works, i remember i need to open the cover, change disc, and press reset button to change game. If i hold the power button to off and change game, it wont work anymore, i.e always go to "pls insert ps or ps2 format disc". Seems like the mod chip is not working? how do i get it to work again? thks in advance.

The only way to know what modchip it is, is too take it apart.

That is probably how that modchip works. A lot of older ones did.

Here is some boot procedures on some old modchips, probably doesn't help much seeing we don't know what modchip you have.
