I have a modded slim ps2 which shows up a label "MATRIX". I have put up games into my new 80 gb seagate hdd ( the old one got screwed and I got it replaced and thats why having the following problem) via winhiip. But whenever I switch it on only the "MATRIX" appears and then it turns into blank. I think I need some sort of software to boot it up. Can anyone plz help?

Yes you need to burn hdloader to CD to access the hdd.
Download hdloader 8c

Thankyou very much for the reply. But I want to inform you that the lense of my ps2 are not working and thats why I got it modded and I had a software of some kind installed on my hdd which showed up at the game select menu but now doesnot. So is there any alternative?

Well the shortcut key for ELF files on the hdd0/ is 'L1'

Did you try that.

Did they install any ELF files to memory card as that is 'R1' as you boot up PS2.

The only other alternatives are in the tutorial on how to install them again, or if you have a friend with a PS2 and hdd, get them too install for you.

Or you could pm one of these guys and ask them to install fmcb 1.8 to memory card, that way you would have HDloader on the memory card.

You would just have to disable your chip to use the fmcb 1.8

Sir, I went to one of my friend and he had something in his memory card which he copied on mine and now I have to press R1 to boot the hdd. But I want a software which could be installed on my hdd that can boot it. Because the one I had previously installed was customised by the one who modded my ps2 and had his name and telephone numbers in the background and the software was named as "VDEU GEM". So any suggestions.

Ok the site sksapps.com that holds the Matrix Tutorial is down for a few days. Should be back up again soon.

Then you could follow the part ' Installing Dev 2' , thus that would allow too Boot from the hdd0/ by pressing L1 at Bootup.
