I plan on buying a fifth PS2 in the near future. Slims are 70 USD and Fats are 50.'

When I get one I plan on running ESR and OPL, which would be my better option ps2 wise?

slim is better...many improvements in it...

but fat also has a advantage as it has an expansion bay for a hard disk...

in my slim i use an hd in a usb case... game works smoothly...but...videos are choppy smtimes....as it has a usb 1.1 port....

NOTE: i have heard mc boot(esr and all) does not work on the latest slims i.e SCPH 900XX and abbove..

try getting a 70000 series model....

I ended up getting a 70012 slim a few days ago, but when I tried to use my old swap magic discs I forgot I needed to do the tape and tissue trick, while opening the case, I used a bit to much force and the power button/led thing fell off the circuit thingy. I just ordered another one, and it should be here within 6-16 days :(

At least it gives me a decent ammount of time to back up my ps2 collection.

BTW, can I use swap magic 3.6 to install fmcb or do I need 3.8?
