I don't think its the swap magic cd, as i can get to the splash screen on a game
3) Media
it may be the media, as i have read some ps2 can only read dvd- media ( i need to search more to confirm this on my ps2)
4) Burning software
i am not home to test this, but i read dvd decrypter is the best burning software for ps2 iso's
5. dvd bunrner.
this is the 1st time i have used my burner in years. i did do a standard data burn and was able to read it. the one i have installed is a lite-on 4x, i have a couple of 20x burners that i can try.
i know this was a bit long winded, but thanks for any help
From the link you posted, the media i am using is rated 1st class. And now i know what to buy in the future =)
i think i have narrowed down the problem to my dvd burner. I burned off another backup using dvd decrypter, and was able to get past the splash screen and 1/2 through the intro movie before it locked up.
i wont be able to test a new burner untill next week. currently my computer sits in a nzxt hush case. 2 months ago (yes i am a slacker) i upgraded my processor from a amd quad 9700 to a quad 9950 Black edition and bumped the power supply from a ultra 600watt to a antec 850watt. Since then i have been having heat issues that have been causing lockups!
earlier this week i ordered an antec 900 case and a scythe km02-bk fan controler. when that comes in i will swap the dvd rom, and see how things go.
No problem, I started too build a new computer about 4 months ago.
Still not finished as the processor I want is still way high. So waiting for the price too drop just a bit, lol.
Then I just need my memory and thats it, but in the meantime I have had to replace power supply in the one I am using and it needs more ram.
i looked at the nine hundred two case, it was about 40$ more. the only difference from what i could tell, is the big boy fan had blue led's, the case was painted black, and the top of the case didnt appeal to me =)
however i would had loved to had a esata port on the original one =)
