Hey all, I'm new to the mod scene. Sorry for sounding like a broken record, but for the life of me I cannot load ToxicOS on my PS2.

I have a V12 console and just installed a DMS4SE Pro. I've triple checked all solder joints, and they all test OK (BIOS wires to the bios pads, CDVD wires to the actual DSP package). The only problem I've noted with the whole install is that I soldered "Q" to the wrong side of the component the first time around... I've since fixed that. Still getting a RSOD. Verified that the CD burned correctly (contains the ZZZ.ZZZ file, ELF file and that other file).

Also, the "DMS4 DISABLED" test (holding square at boot) works fine.

I'm about ready to give up on this mod. Anyone have any suggestions?

A bit more info on this one. Looks like Q is constantly held at 1.5V. When I boot up the PS2 without the enclosure, it goes directly to loading the disc. I tried pulling Q to ground through a 220-ohm resistor, which simulated the lid being open. Sounds like something bridged somewhere, but I've been over every square inch of this board and can't find anything! Anyone encounter this?

Or not... perhaps it's best to test with the case on it... I found a 2nd witch for the CD tray, held both down and it started acting normally. Still get the RSOD though.

I see nobody is interested in helping me. Thanks guys. I'm giving up on this entirely. Tried everything, checked my wires I don't know how many times, made sure they all lay flat and don't cross. Tried 3 types of CD-R media. Tried ToxicOS, ToxicBIOS and even some 33MB DMS4 upgrade CD. All produce the RSOD. I can't find anything wrong with the install, so I'm going to seal it back up and forget I even put this much effort into a fruitless endeavor. I have better things to waste my time with.
