Free Mcboot Install Problem

How's it going everybody? I just recently got swap magic 3.6 plus from my friend a day or two ago and I have been able to actually play my burned games fine on my Silver PS2 79001 through blocking the 3 sensors. But the reason why I wanted swap magic was to install Free Mcboot 1.8b on my memory card. So I downloaded the Newbie pack at sksapps and put them on my usb the way I saw them in tutorials and videos (Which i formatted the usb and set to FAT 32) and then I found out that I need ulaunchelf to boot the usb. So I burned ulaunch 4.40 on a CD-R and when I tried booting it through the swap magic method, all it does is tell me that its not a valid ps2 disc or it just freezes. I've went through a bunch of different cd's and burn methods trying to figure this out but no dice. Any info at all will help me greatly. Thanks.

Try burning the uLe 4.38 to DVD instead

Use imgburn and burn the ISO at 4x. It should work.
