I'm in a circumstance where I forgot my US PS1 trigger disk back in the states and only have the likelihood of getting a Japanese PS1 game.

I have a US PS2. If I were to use a Japaense PS1 game, could that trigger the exploit before the system realizes there's a conflict in region?

I am not sure if it works or not, but using a JP PS1 disc just means that it has to be listed in the TitleDB

YOu would still have your region of PS2 selected as Region.

You would just have to try it and see if it works or not.

If you can get that too work, I would just install fmcb 1.8 to your memory card

Then you don't need too boot a PS1 disc anymore.

Oh wow, Thanks for the info. I remember reading about FMCB some time ago but never realized it allowed straight boot into an environment that doesn't require trigger disks or swapping. Luckily I did bring my Swap Magic disks with me :).
