could it be your using the cd version for playing dvd games or the other way around? Another thing too I've noticed PS1 backups won't work for me...good luck hope this solves the problem.

or it could be that those imports were burned on SHIT DVDs. So all you need to do is re-burn them on good media (like Sony or Ritek) and then they should run fine.

just a FYI .. yet again for the hard of thinking ..

swap magic WILL NOT boot ps1 backups.. .. and also.. they don't boot every single game.. more like 70%

Have you tried the "special" boot options like different region and the like?

Swap magic 3.8 is for cd boots only it will not boot an esr, dvd or ps1(psx) game. also if you have a fat ps2 you need to use ether dvd-r or cd-r depending on if the game is cd or dvd originally. Swap magic 3.6 will boot dvd's only. I have used many brands and qualities to burn backups and only have encountered one game I cant boot out of the 150 plus backups I have tried. If your booting dvd's and don't have swap magic 3.6 then free mc boot 1.8 can be installed on your memory card using swap magic 3.8 and version of ulaunch burned to a cd. ulaunch lets you access the usb on your ps2 and then from a usb stick the exploit can be installed. If you cant figure it out I have a bunch of memory cards and can sell you an exploited one for the price it will cost to buy a cheap 8 meg one on ebay or send a blank one to me and I'll exploit it for you for the shipping cost. On ebay I'm chriswhit-2009 if you want to see my seller feedback. If you exploit your memory card yourself use an 8 mb card otherwise you will have issues and your memory card may not always be seen by your ps2. A cd game must be burned to a cd and not a dvd. How you can tell the difference is the ps2 cd original will be blue on the under side and a dvd will be a silver color. I can dig up some links to help you if I have more info to go on like what you want to boot and what system you have fat of slim and what type of disks your using.
