Hi, I recently burned myself a copy of Metal Gear Solid 1 for PSX to play on the PS2. It works fine but the screen is way too far down, like there is a big black bar at the top of the screen and about 3 whole inches cut off of the bottom! I have tried multiple copies/rips of the game, burning at different speeds ect... and nothing seems to fix it. It works perfect on epsxe, just not on my PS2. Any idea how to solve this?

Depends on your ps2 version (meaning pal or ntsc) and also the version of the game.

Oh, mt PS2 is NTSC, while the game is PAL. I'm betting thats it right?

Alright thanks man. I do have a question though, will all PAL games do this? I REALLY want to burn the international versions of the Final Fantasy games (I've been wanting to for years), are they just gonna **** up as well if I do? If so, is there any way to avoid/fix this?

I'm guessing you are using the cogswap method. So what you can do, is google for a patch for your pal games. Another thing you can do, is google swapmagic.elf and load that like the cogswap. I burnt and old copy of swapmagic and load it with cogswap. Worked great for my pal copies.

I'm not really sure what a cogswap is, I'm putting in an original PSX game, and swapping it for my burnt one when the PS logo comes up.

You may have to patch the game first, then just swap the same way you always do
