I have a slim ps2 which i modded tape and tissue method...bought the swapmagic 3.6 and been using it regularly for my backups...swap magic got scratched so i did the mcboot exploit to memory card...can run backups now that are patched with esr patcher but running into a problem with sms player...I have avis on dvd-r's and everytime i load sms it wont find my dvd...on the top says available media none and on the bottom reads waiting for media...ive read through a tonnnn of stuff and cant seem to find a way for sms to look at dvd...can someone please help? i appreciate it...

To play the avi's from the disc, you need to follow the directions in this thread - link

I find it much easier to just an External USB hdd, formatted as FAT32
Then just place your .avi files on it and set it up in the sms player for USB drive.
