Do I need anything else for this to work?
The swap magic gets me to a black screen and only once in awhile it will bring me to the thing to load the game and then the game stays at a loading screen.
I really need help.

Are you using both SM 3.6 & SM 3.8

You are selecting your own region when loading the game, regardless of what region the game is.

Where did you buy that from, I hope not ps2cover.com

There is no such thing as both on one disc. They did however make some Ultimate disc, that most people had problems with.

Sounds like your Swap Magic disc is not working properly.

They can be faulty. If your sure your laser is in good condition, then I would send it back and ask for a replacement.

What I mean is when you have Swap Magic loaded, you then swap your disc
Choose Normal , then choose NTSC or PAL < you always choose the region of your PS2.

Or couldn't it be just a bad ISO?

I thought that too at first, but he is saying his Swap Magic is usually a Black screen and only once in awhile gets him to the Loading screen.

So its either the discs or his laser, I would say.
