I bought the latest swap magic, burned the latest HDloader, and it works beautifully. Now I tried to boot the default elf off a USB to no avail. Now I am trying MC exploits, and am unable to get it to properly create the required SWAPMAGIC\SWAPMAGIC.ELF folder structure. I've tried Keylauncher (installs fine using expinst but does not work when the SM CD is put in) and the original SMBOOT zip (file read error, creates a 1KB corrupt file, no luck).
Any suggestions? I'd just like to put in the SM CD and have it autorun HDL off the MC, without having to do the silly swap. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: I have no PSX CDs and one PS2 DVD, I just need an exploit that will create that directory structure SM demands for SMBOOT functions. Thank you!

The best way really is too install fmcb 1.8 to a memory card.

That way you can launch any application right from your Sony Browser.

The files can be on your memory card or your usb drive to launch if you don't have a lot of space on memory card.

fmcb install instructions - link (just use the mirror for now as the other site is down at the moment)

Awesome, thanks very much for the suggestion and links (some are dead, but google still works).
Works like a charm!
Any reason to get 1.8 instead of 1.7 (what I found at first and installed)?

Cool, yeah the sksapps.com forum and site is down for the time being.
Hopefully they will be back up after the weekend.

The fmcb releases are here - http://psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58292

It also lists the differences of them. Now that you have 1.7 installed, it is easy to install 1.8 to another memory card or to the same one the 1.7 is on, by using uLaunch.elf
