Topic title says it all. I am 'stuck' on disc 1 for two games: Chrono Cross and Parasite Eve. So I need to know how do I go about continuing my games on their respective disc 2's.

This method is my only way of playing my PSX backups on my PS2 console. However, if necessary, I am willing to transfer my saves to PC (via ulaunchelf and usb stick) and playing it on ePSXe just to get over onto disc 2, and transfer it back to my PSX memory card to resume play. But I just need to know how exactly to go about doing that.

I have silver slim PS2, like v18 or v19, model is SCPH-79001.

And how exactly do you run them ? You swap with an original PS1 game ?

well i haven't found a direct way to change from disc 1 to disc 2, so I went the alternative route, which is to transfer from PSX memory card and get it onto my computer and play it on emulator. It was sort of time consuming to figure it out though..

Three programs were used:
1. PSX Raw Converter
2. PSXGameEdit
3. MemCardRex

1. Copy save file (Chrono Cross for this example) from PSX memory card to USB stick using uLaunchElf.

2. Once done, insert USB stick in PC.

3. Open PSX Raw Converter, drag raw save file{s} from step #1 into window, and it automatically created a new .mcs file for each game save.

4. open PSXGameEdit v1.60, drag each mcs save that you want to play on emulator, one by one into PSXGameEdit. I used Chrono Chross and Parasite Eve since I needed to get to disc 2 on both of them.

5. File > Save MemCardImage. I will name it 'whatever.MC'. You now have compiled a new memory card.

6. Change 'whatever.MC' to 'whatever.MCR'. <-- This step may not be necessary. ePSXe is now able to read it. Configure your emulator to use your new memory card file.

7. Open emulator and play game{s} as normal on until you get to disc 2. Save your game once on disc 2 :). Close emulator.

8. Use MemCardRex v0.8, and open whatever.MCR. Your save titles should show up. Export each save you have, one by one. Restart this program and try again if nothing seems to happen, it's a little buggy...

9. They should be now converted back to PSX raw format. Now copy it back to USB stick, use uLE to copy over to your memory card and you should be back again.

10. Fire up your PS2, load, resume game, and enjoy :)

If someone knows of a way to change from disc 1 to disc 2, or disc 2 to disc 3, etc., without your saves having to ever leave your PSX memory card, it would be nice to hear. :)
