Guitar Hero 5 and HD Advance 3.0

I'm trying to get Guitar Hero 5 running via HD Advance. I've copied the disc to the PS2's hard drive via the network, but it freezes during the splash screen with the loading bar about halfway thru. Anyone have a solution for this? My PS2 is an older fat model and other games that I've put on the hard drive via the network work just fine (Dragon Quest 8, Guitar Hero World Tour, etc).
