I have a unchipped FAT ps2 with a fliptop, I am attempting THIS: http://hdadvance.digitalsedative.com/

exploit with a PS1 backup swap. But the CDrs I burn make a disturbing grinding noise and give me a black screen and nothing else.

any help?

Do you have any problem playing Original CD's

What method are you using to boot the exploit CD-R?
You need either a modchip, or Cheat disc.

How fast did you burn the CD-R?

I did a little research online and it said I diddnt need any mod chip or Cheat disk if I used a Swap card or fliptop mod. I was using the fliptop mod.

Load a PS1 disk in the browser, then swap for the burn. a few sources online said it works.

When I attempted this I got a grinding noise.

When I just put the disk in normally to see what happens, it also grinds.

But PS1 and PS2 disks spin normally in the machine.

The PS2 doesnt even tell me the disk is invalid, it just doesnt show up.

Well where ever it is you have read, you have been misinformed

In order to for that exploit too work, even in the tutorial you linked me too, says he booted it with a modchip.

You need a Cheat disk, swap Magic or a modchip to boot the exploit.

Once the exploit is installed, then its just the PS1 disk that starts uLe

There is another method you can try depending upon what discs you own.

http://bootleg.sksapps.com/tutorials/fmcb/

Check under Installation tab, for PS2 Swap trick disc

That site is having server issues at the moment, so just keep checking it until it works.
