I bought swap magic version 3.8 and added some codes for SH4. I enabled them, and try to start the game. But the disk stops spinning and the screen stays black. However, the game works fine if I start it up normally without using swap magic. I'm not sure what the problem is. Does anyone have any suggestions?

So when you swap the disk, enable the codes then hit boot disk it doesnt work? PAL and NTSC dont work?

Am I supposed to enable the codes and THEN swap to the game? Or swap to the game THEN enable the codes?

It shouldnt matter either way i usually swap first, select the game/codes then hit start --> Normal--> NTSC or PAL. Ive also had the same problem though but i just kept retrying the swap method a couple times then it worked.

I tried doing it a few more times, but the game just stops spinning. I even rebuilt the game and wrote it onto a DVD+R and even that stopped spinning.

Hmm...what do you use to burn your backups? I use ImgBurn to write the ISO file and i use maxell DVD-R disks to write on the slowest speed possible for maximum quality. You must use a well known brand i.e Sony, maxell, Kodak they work well. But i dont understand why thats happening still knowing how it happens to me sometimes and i just restart my ps2, very weird.

I use DVD Decrypter and Maxell disks. I first tried it at 4x and that didn't work. Then I tried 2x, but I haven't been able to try it cause my mom took control of the TV. Also, when I burned SH2 to a disk, it took me to the red screen and said to insert a PS2 format disk.

I just found out that I was actually using Memorex disks, not Maxell. What kind is good to use?
