Hey there.

I've just softmodded my xbox and it's working all good, so I decided to upgrade it's HDD so that I can put games onto it rather then burning a bunch of DvDs.

I already had an IDE HDD which is on the compatible list and followed all the instructions on FTPing the backup files and such.

My CD/DVD Burner is on the IDE port as secondary.

However I've come to a problem when running the linux disk to upgrade the HDD. Due to my pc having 3 sets of SATA ports (1-3) my only IDE port is assessed as slot 4 in the BIOS (Primary (4) & Secondary (4)).
This means that went I try to upgrade it gives me an error saying that it can not detect the an inserted CD (even though the disk is working fine and already at the menu).

Any suggestions on what I could do apart from trying to find another computer to set it up on, as that wont be the easiest option.
