I've got 2 crystal xboxes, one was softmodded, and I screwed up a shortcut for xbmc, so its screwed now. I intend to softmod the other so its ok but i want to fix the broken one by hotswapping and re-building the hard drive using ISO Linux disk.

Basically, What I do know, is (kinda) how to hotswap using xboxhd.

My Problem is, The tutorials on hotswapping are great, Easy to follow, they just all seem to be people with older PCs with IDE hard drives.

Then theres me, and im sure a lot more people, with SATA Hard Drives with newer motherboards.

Can you hotswap with a newer mobo and Sata drives?

Reason I ask is: My CD drive has an IDE cable with 2 Plugs, so the CD drives cable can go out of the CD drive and into the mother board, then from there back out and plug into a hard drive IDE stylee. I just want to know if that works that way?

Replies are muchly Apreciated guys, thanks! :)
