Trouble upgrading XBMC?

i've been trying to upgrade my xbmc by ftping to the xbox from my laptop through this method. while i'm connected, i keep receiving a request from my xbox to type in my user name and password. this will continue while each file is being transferred until the point where the connection becomes lost. what am i doing wrong here?
