Hi:

There are many (cd /dvd)burners available. Some swear by Nero or others, but my favorite all around burner is ImageBurn. You can download it here at afterdawn.com as follows: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_so...ols/imgburn.cfm

The interface is fairly self-explaining. There are several forums on this website that will help you with issues if you have any. Also, the Official ImageBurn Website, http://www.imgburn.com/, will have more information you can use. Good luck!

Yours kindly,
BluesJack

Hi again:

If I misunderstood your question, I'm sorry. When it comes to hardware burners (external or internal) I prefer one with LightScribe firmware built into it. This is so I can make professional looking labels, burned into dye on the backside of the disks. It takes special "LightScribe" media (DVD disks) to burn the labels. However, many suppliers like Memorex, Verbatim and HP make them.

As far as brand names go, any good name brand such as LG, Lite-on, Phillips, Sony, Plextor etc are good. Just do your homework and pick one you like. Check out http://www.afterdawn.com/hardware/catego...feature_672=556 for external DVD burners For reviews try http://www.itreviews.co.uk/hardware/hard18.htm or
http://www.cnet.com/1770-5_1-0.html?query=External+DVD+burners

To buy one look at http://www.amazon,co.uk if you are in the UK or http://www.amazon.com and http://www.newegg.com if in the USA. Remeber "google" as a resource for information, reviews and shops.

Yours kindly,
BluesJack
