I have a video that was originally recorded on a video camera to a vhs. I had the vhs copied onto a dvd. The video is about 15 minutes and was broken into 4 chapters. I need part of chapter 3 and all of chapter 4, roughly about 5 minutes. I used Dvdfab to copy just chapter 3 & 4 and now have a 6 minute and 44 second video.

I still need to cut off the first 1:44. I was told I could do that with DVD Shrink. But I downloaded it and can't figure out how to do it.

I appreciate anyones help on this.

I have also found a great tutorial for DVDshrink. Go to link and look through the various tutorials offered.

Make sure you check the MD5sum on the downloaded file to make certain you are getting an uncorrupted (virus-free) file!

Denis (a.k.a ddlooping) has done an outstanding job in this tutorial!

Cheers!

I use DVD Shrink 3.2 and need help with Re Auther Mode.

When I start the program and then put in a DVD I then click Re Auther Mode Tab.

I just want to take one Chapter off the DVD and keep everything about it as is with no compression what do I do next??

When I want to "slice and dice" scenes I first use an application like shrink for decryption and then open the program in a simple editing program like ULead Video Studio. I can create start/stop points for whatever part of the program and then render it in any file format I care to - MPEG2 to DVD, for example. No visible loss, very easy to do.

Use Womble MPEG Video Wizard, better editing than Shrink
