I have been using DVD shrink to back up my huge DVD collection. I have noticed that after using DVD shrink that when playing the actual DVD on a dvd player that the copyright protection is totally gone. Is this normal? This happened on the movie "Never Back Down." Later then on the movie "300" the copyright protection remained in place. I am not sure if "Never Back Down" just didn't have it or if DVD shrink actually changed the DVD. Any insight on this problem would be very much appreciated.
Dvd shrink, dvd decrypter, anydvd, dvdfab.....none of these programs change the structure of the dvd. They just allow you to copy/compress the files onto your HDD or another disk.
Read the FAQ on how to use the software, you know it's in the menu bar of the program you do know what a menu bar is ?,once you know that get started on the settings & learning what they do,hey look structure can be changed, what'ya know ya learn somth'n new everyday
EDIT:Shrink is old & unupdated is why it won't work on later movies, the guy that made it now works for nero on "nero recode"
I noticed the copyright protection was gone after making sure DVD shrink was not changing the DVD. Just recently started using it and was afraid it might change the quality. I read on a thread somewhere about DVD shrink messing up menu options an deleting scenes. I was just being cautious.
Anyways I have version 3.2. I got 300 and never back down. I couldnt get the punisher though which happened to pretty old.(first one)
Use dvdfab hd ,it's a lot better & under customize if you choose that option you select what gets incorporated into the final rip including menu's etc,it's free, from what i can tell you just won't be able to convert to avi,psp etc unless you get the paid other than that it does everything else, you'll see it get mentioned round here a fair bit, there's anydvd + cloneDVD also but they're trials only
