hi, this is my first time to post a question in this excellent website and i hope to get a reply from anyone who know the answer.
Are the following files important when shrinking dvd files?
VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VIDEO_TS.VOB
VTS_01_0.BUP
VTS_01_0.IFO
I noticed that without these files dvd shrink will produce a screen message asking for these files.
I've been trying to shrink files with just the playable files that dvd players and computers look in for like VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_02_1.VOB, etc... but dvdshrink won't shrink the compilation.
I thank in advance those who may take the time to answer my query....
Originally posted by attar: A DVD movie disk must contain VOB, IFO and BUP files, else it doesn't comply with the DVD standard - it wont play on a standalone player.
DVD Shrink will only open DVD compliant disks (or folders or images).
The .IFO files contain information about audio tracks, subtitles etc.
The .BUP files are backups of the .IFO files.
thank you for that info attar, but how come i was able to make a DVD compilation wherein i copied just the VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_02_1.VOB etc, or the files which has the big sizes in DVD movies using nero?? thanks...
