Bullsh*t, Shrink still does all it's programmed to do. All he needs is output to ISO and burn with ImgBurn so garmon's tip was on the spot.
If you meant strip copy-protection then yes it may be useless, that was never its best feature anyway. I use it successfully a few times a week, not needing that function but for all the other goodness it brings.

As far as Shrink being useful, here's my two cents. As Deadrum stated, it's no longer worth trying to break encryption with. For that you need an updated ripper like AnyDVD or DvdFab.
As far a transcoder, it is still a handy program to have around. That is, assuming compression requirements are minimal.
For heavy compression DVD Rebuilder is king as far as i'm concerned.

If you have the latest AnyDVD and use DVD Shrink. You should not have any trouble making a backup.
You can still use Nero Express to burn your backup.
Go where the file has been created.
Open Nero Express
Click on Video / Pictures
Click DVD-Video Files
Drag and drop your DVD files in
Burn at a slow speed. I use 4X

He wants Shrink to burn AUTOMATICALLY with any program, since Nero does not do that any more. He doesn't want to do that manually, as he is having to do now with NeroBRom. Your way works adequately but requires extra work. If you have a new burner, don't hesitate to burn them at half the rated disc speed-burn usually 12X and 16X are ok today with a good quality burner and media. I never burn less than 12X unless I'm using 8X TY T02s which I burn at 8X. I burn verbatim DL @2.4X
