I looked all over the forum and even did searches and still couldn't find what i'm looking for.So maybe someone can point me in the right direction.

My computer crashed and had to be reformatted. I had to reinstall everything. But now my DVD Shrink is running really slow.
Can someone tell me what the preferences should be set at.
thank you

The default setting are just fine. Have you check if your system is set up properly, like DMA set to on or something?

DMA is on.
But its still going really slow.
But when I burn a copy of a copy it moves really fast. I don't get what is slowing down the burn process of an original movie.

DVD Shrink doesn't have it's own burning engine. If you use DVD Shrink to "burn a copy f a copy", you're wasting time/going the wrong way.

A "copy" is already analyzed/transcoded/shrunk to its 4.5GB or so. Of course DVD Shrink will be so much slower dealing with an orginal movie, on which it has to do all the work.

What do you mean by "slow"? The encoding is slow? All system specs things being equal between the old and new installation, I'd check the process tab in the Task Manager and sort by CPU usage to see if any other process is eating up CPU cycles.

I uninstalled and reinstalled DVD Shrink and now it seems to be working fine. I don't know why that worked but hey I am not complaining :) Thanks for the help though.
