Most times dvd shrink works fine, but lately I'm getting an error, the disc pops out, after I discard it and put in a new one, it may work, or it'll happen again ...

Here is my log

I've has similar issues with using Nero to burn DVD's. What I do is use shrink to build an image file and burn using Image Burn.

Well I not been to aD in a looooong time. So I am out of touch, but to start with it seems you have a problem with Nero not Shrink.

How old is this burner?
Also your firmware is way out of date.

I have always liked Ritek, but RITEKF..1...... gets mixed reviews.
http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia?dvdmed...RITEKF1.....%20

Try some better media.

Your burners max write speed is 8X, so slow to 4x.

hi :)
Quote:
Nero API version: 7.11.8.0
Using interface version: 6.3.1.4

you've installed 7 over 6 could cause errors

remove nero with nero clean tool and reinstall your preffered version

I started out with a OEM LG burner. I burned more than a thousand DVD's with no problems. The right media, software and write speed can mean more than a big name burner.

edit
@ gurnard
I guess it is to long since I looked a Nero log. I missed the version problem.

Hi, look what it simply means is that dvd shrink and nero have on heck of a conflict, it happens, try uninstalling both and reinstalling then in a different order, I've had problems with running Nero, DVD Fab 6, Slysoft Clone DVD and DVD Shrink together.
DVD Shrink and DVD Fab do not work at all well together on the same system.
I've also had issues with DVD FAB and Clone DVD working agains each other as well as Shrink and Nero, I found that simply uninstalling the one I use the least solves the problem.
alternativly try getting Nero 9 it seems to be working well with all of them on my new PC

I personally believe Nero is bloatware and junk, you want a good burning program use ImgBurn. That being said there are countless numbers that use the programs mentioned in your post without any bother of said conflicts. I guess maybe if you were trying to run them all at once you could cause some headaches, but otherwise I don't see it. I think that the OP should stick with the good advice given previously in regards to updating the firmware, slowing down the burn, and using good quality media.

I think that the OP should stick with the good advice given previously in regards to updating the firmware, slowing down the burn, and using good quality media.
imgburn is the best in most cases and your right Nero is Bloatware mostly I don't use Nero at all but I do find that Nero 9 makes a very good Audio CD and its easy, as to the rest no I never run all of them on the same system, DVD FAB will give you a warning that it has a problem with ANY DVD and Clone DVD and ask for you to uninstall one or both, as to shrink and DVD FAB, I got mixed Files while making a copy of a movie with DVD FAB once i uninstalled SHRINK it came out fine, maybe it was a system problem I don't know but since then I've never run them together and never had that problem again

You didn't mention AnyDVD in your original post, and yes you are correct that DVD Fab will give you a warning if you have AnyDVD running at the same time. :)

hi :)
why is there all this sh*t on here about Nero, if a few Mb of program is to much for your system, then your system needs a good looking at.
Shrink originally was linked to Dvd Decrypter/Nero (no compatability probs)later to ImgBurn with AnyDvd running in the back ground (no compatability probs)
Shrink is now used mainly for re-authoring, although Nero's Recode is far better and easier to use.
OF COURSE all the other decrypters say that there are issues if you don't uninstall AnyDvd, they want your donations to stay viable (if you use thier freeware)
i've used Shrink..Decrypter..Nero..AnyDvd without any problems now for years, if i did get any i wouldn't blame my tools, i'd look at my log to see where the problem lay
so all you nero knockers (not just on this thread.. but the whole of AD) give it a rest your becoming a bore

I gave my opinion mate, that is what I believe, I am not asking you or anyone else to take it as the gospel. But pretty much this whole site is made of opinions, perhaps some more educated than others, but still mostly opinions.
I never told the OP that his problem lie with Nero. I also went on to say that many people use the programs mentioned in Wedge1967's post without issue. That particular post was what the majority of my response was directed at. To contradict his statements of those programs not playing well together. So please accept my apologies if what I have to say bores you. :)

Here's your answer and with a happy ending as well. Instead of using Nero 6 or 7, which, let's face it, are relics and completely outdated. The first thing you'll need to do is download Nero Trial V9.0.9. Just copy and paste what is inside the quotations as a google search: "Nero version 9.0.9 trial download" Once you've downloaded the trial, install it and use this product key: ****-****-****-****-****-****-****-522A*
You need to use the Nero Clean Tool before doing this install as well as going through your ADD/REMOVE programs list in your control panel to make sure that you have no other CD/DVD burning software such as ""Roxio"" ""Easy CD Creator"" ETC. When using the Nero Clean Tool which can be downloaded from Nero's website, DO NOT REMOVE ANY NERO SOFTWARE USING ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS IN CONTROL PANEL!!!!!! ONLY USE THE CLEAN TOOL WHILE THE PROGRAM IS FULLY INSTALLED!!!!! Once you finish all that you can set up NERO 9 with DVD Shrink and burn directly after compression without any issues. That product key is a corporate one so it can be used unlimited times and is the full version which will never expire. You're welcome. edited by ddp. Cheers!
