Is E:\ a hard drive, CD/DVD drive, USB stick, virtual drive, network share? More information would be useful. Explain what you do, and what happens as a result.

The problem is more than likely due to copy protection, so try using DVDfab decrypter, you can always use shrink after you've ripped the video files to your hard drive.

Or if you'd rather just use shrink, try installing DVDFab Passkey 7.0.1.1 Beta, then try using shrink to backup the movie. Passkey is free while in beta phase, but it works in the back round to help shrink break the copy protection.
