Both my friend and I got copies of Haunting In Connecticut and both copies will not rip. It always says that there is something wrong with 2 VOB sectors of both discs. Anydvd and Clonedvd says the disc may be dirty, ripit4me says that there are 2 sectors that are strangelly decrytped and cannot undo Dvdshrinks says there is an error and DVDfab just says that there is an error. Any thoughts as to why this is happening. I usually can get a disc backed up with at least one of these programs.

What's wrong ??? AnyDVD 6559 handled this easy back up, along with NeroRecode, Movie only 100%, no compression. Did not try Fab! Will later to see if it will rip. This was region 1 disc. Did not have one problem.
Edit: DVDFab 6022 also has no trouble with this disc region 1; this time full disc. The movie is a SL double-sided WS and FS versions.Fab ripped to a file and then burned the file with ImgBurn. There is no compression for either side and a quick back-up.
So I don't understand what the trouble is. It's Lionsgate and was expecting harder.

Will be picking this one up today. Good to know that Anydvd can handle it. I'll give it a go with DvdFab though and post back.

I tried to use anydvd just to rip it and it errored out the same with DVDclone. Dvdfab would just pause with 9 seconds left and then crash after 2 hours or so. Ripit4me says the disc is dirty and to try to rerip 2 files

I had no problem doing movie only. When I opened the disc in Shrink it would freeze at 17% during analysis. I mostly back-up movie only anyways so next time I clicked on re-author first and it opened as usual. Double clicked on Title 1, analysis, edited out the end credits, no compression, burned to the HDD. Files played on my computer using Nero Showtime and files burned to disk with Nero played fine on two different standalone DVD players. AnyDVD version was 6.5.4.0

@ daldan and others having trouble
Are your discs DLs or are they like the one I got, doubled sided SL. You guys have all the fun with the hard discs. There's no fun any more pressing one button and coming back with a movie popped out of a machine. Must be ghosts, eh, varnull! Guess I'll have to go watch it now.

Yeah.. I guess so.. I was sent a full disk iso with extras and menus last night as a standard sl 4.37 image... so I can't see what else it can be.
Not a bad movie.. very derivative tho.. and really not scary... want abject terror??.. Bruno or The Sound of Music.. both fill me with dread... BTW.. check out my profile.. the pic of me in the mirror has a heap more under it in the comments.. now I'm getting there.

It is a one sided 4gb disc not a dual layered or double sided disc. It did not need compressing

I've got the double sided disc as well. DvdFab 5.2.5.0 (which is what i'm still rocking on my lappy) gave multiple errors while reading. I chose ignore all it kept scanning the disc.
I'll keep messing with it.

Update: DvdFab 6.0.2.2 ripped it just fine. The flipper disc, full-disc widescreen needed no compression.
Anydvd 6.5.6.4 in ripper mode also had no problems with it.

Well.....there is 2 different versions: The Retail-Digital is easy to rip, but the Rental Copy double sided SL disc takes more challenge.
Every time a program crash, use the lattest vertion or an older vertion.....I use DVDfab 5.2.2.6 or older.
Everytime a movie pause, usually before complete. You are in the wrong Title(angle)Number.....in this movie is the #1 configuration.
