I used DVDFab Version 8.0.1.6 with no trouble. Turn off pathfinder and used Title 29.

Just tried several times to rip with AnyDVD 6.7.0.0. Appears to work but when trying to "open disc" in DVD Shrink for editing it still fails to read the disc. Tried in 2 drives. Shows up in MY COMPUTER and can view using Media Player, but doesn't seem to work with Shrink. Any thoughts??

Ripped with AnyDVD to the hard drive then opened "file" in Shrink and was able to edit as usual.

Okay, I am really an amateur to all of this. I have bought DVDFab and am using what appears to be the latest version (DVDFab 8.0.0.5) and it won't even read Iron Man 2. I don't want to use a lot of different software when I have paid to use this one. Should I just be patient and see if they release an update? Is anyone else having this problem? Everyone talks about their success ripping/burning of this dvd, but no one has mentioned using DVDFab 8.0.0.5. I am assuming this is different than DVDFab 8.0.1.6 Beta? I appreciate everyone's patience with me as well as their assistance. Thank you in advance!

There are a couple of updates on dvdfab and if you upgrade to the latest 8.0.1.6 Beta you should be able to copy the DVD

DVDFab 8.0.0.5 works fine, no need for the latest Beta version. Open DVDFab without any discs in your drive. In the title bar, click on the checkmark symbol; this opens the options box. Look about halfdown the left column for something called "Pathplayer". Click on "Pathplayer". The Pathplayer options box opens. The "Enable Pathplayer when necessary" option is the default and should be selected. You want to select the "Disable Pathplayer" option. Then click on the "OK". Another box will pop up saying you have to restart DVDFab for the option to be enabled; so close out DVDFab, and start it again.

Now put the "Ironman 2" disc in the DVD ROM or Writer, and select Main Movie under DVD Copy, the program will read the disc and give you all these Titlesets in the left window. The program selects one of the lower number ones, which is the incorrect one. You want to scroll down and select Titleset 29. This titleset gives DVDFab the correct path to follow. Now you should be good to go - select Next and let DVDFab do it's thing. If you don't want any loss in resolution, then use a dual-layer DVD blank. Also don't forget to go back and check the "Enable Pathplayer When Necessary" option for future DVDs you want to backup.

ok I have used the new Any DVD to rip it to the computer no problems there.. and then I used DVD FAB to *shrink* it but when I go to burn the movie using Nero, it says there is not enough space on the disc, however when I check the size of the file on my hard drive it is only about 4,300 MBs... when I enter it into nero it says the same size on the bar across the bottom of the program. but when I go to actually hit the Burn button it states that I am trying to copy 24,905 MBs of data to the disc.. anyone having similar problems? or know of a way to solve it?

Give ImgBurn a try for file on the hard drive, It`s free or CloneDvD2 from Slysoft, 21 days free.

I'm trying now with 8.0.0.5 with Path Player off, and track 29, will post later to verify if it works, but as for it not reading Ironman 2. It does in fact read it, just seems to take a relatively long time (several minutes) instead of the normal 10-20 seconds. I'm guessing it's because of the unusual format they seem to have used (I'm guessing as an additional deterent from people burning copies)

Yep, it works, track #29 burns and plays perfectly!

Grampa, thank you SO much! It did work! I had to do it a couple of times because I had issues with the audio, first I had none and then it was in French! But I was successful and it was because of your instructions!

I am new to backing up DVDs. How do you know which Titleset to use? I am curious for future movies that I want to back up that are too large for regular or dual layer discs where the only way to make it fit without any loss in resolution is to choose "Movie Only".

Any help on how to know which Titleset to choose for future backups would be helpful. Thank you
