I see you are burning DL disks:does the burner have any problems with single layer disks?

The drive doesn't recognize the disk.
Are you using Verbatim DVD+R DL, if so try saving the output from DVD Shrink to a folder and burn that folder using ImgBurn.

In addition to Attar's reply, Nero 6.x (whilst a very good, stable release) isn't much good where Dual Layer burning is concerned. Keep Nero for single layer burning but as per Attar, use Imgburn for Dual Layer, that'll save you having to upgrade Nero.

Why not just use Imgburn (free) instead of buying Nero 9 ?. it's a no brainer for me..

The main problem here is that your burner's 'firmware' doesn't recognise those blank discs correctly so you need to try some that will be recognised, Verbatim should work, as per Attar's suggestion, Nero 9 won't help there either.
I've been looking for newer firmware for your burner but i have a feeling that version GSLB is the latest; i might be wrong as haven't finished looking. But basically you should try Verbatims, or search the forums for programs that shrink movies down to single layer size.
I for instance have never needed to use even one dual layer disc, and have no intention of ever using one :).

It's been a good couple of years since i last bought/researched drives so your best bet is have a glance thru some of the latest threads here ~ http://forums.afterdawn.com/forum_view.cfm/77 as some of our regulars are avid drive fanatics.
edit- some of the regulars here are drive mad also ~ http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/127/540688#4973376 they're always mentioned new drives in there.

No need to upgrade.....Nero 6 is great for us AD people !

Praxtor Burner is one of the best out there (High Price).

I guess your problem with Nero 6 is your set up:
from idle to high
Set to DVD over burn
burn at lower speed that 8x
etc.

Live Free or Die.
The rule above all the rules is: Survive !
