I have not been able to make a back-up copy of the new DVD "Julie & Julia". I have tried both CloneDVD2 (with AnyDVD) and DVDShrink. Both crap out just after starting. Has anyone had success backing up this disk? Thanks.

Be sure your using the latest version of anydvd which is 6.6.0.6
1.Insert DVD allow anydvd to read was told could take a few minutes as this disk is heavily protected.
2. Right click the little red fox in the systray and choose rip to hard disk.
3. Once it is completed open dvd shrink and import the movie and and back up as usual.

Did ok for me with the free DVD Fab 6205, full disk, path player enabled. Then just used Shrink as usual.

Okay, I was successful with an updated version of AnyDVD (6.6.0.3) and CloneDVD2. Thanks.

I noticed it was suggested that I use ANyDVD to rip and then import into DVDShrink. This seems like one too many steps. With CloneDVD2 it does it in one step. Is there any advantage to doing it in two steps?

randwill- when compression is high most people think you will get a better picture when using dvd shrink combined with quality enhancements like max smoothness and deep analysis.

Turn off AnyDVD, then turn on DVDFAB HD Decrypter, when completed, turn on FixVTS and click entire DVD. Now go to Vob Blanker and run. When completed, run DVD Shrink using the Vob Blanker data. Get a complete disc burn.
